Introduction-to-Sewing Workshops - The Sewing Basics
Introduction to Sewing (and fashion)!
The best of fashion begins with the basics -- fabric, thread and you! There is no better place to start than right here by learning to sew for yourself.
In this two plus hour class you will learn all about your sewing machine AND finish your first project!
With this beginning -- and some practice -- you can "graduate" to ever more complicated and intricate projects. Over time, you'll be making those designer dresses with fabric we carry at Just Make it Sew. Take for example clothing by designer Oscar de la Renta. At Sak's, a skirt, dress or top could cost you $1,000's or more. With our help, you could make it yourself for a fraction of the cost, maybe even using a designer fabric found in our shop.

Build your skills -- Next Steps
Once you've taken the Introduction-to-Sewing Class, you may want to continue your sewing journey and expand your sewing skills. Our individual and one-on-one lessons are designed to reinforce existing and teach new skills. In consultation with us, you can choose from a variety of projects based on your interests. It could be a new item for your wardrobe, something with a zipper, buttons or set in sleeve, or maybe something for someone in your family or household. We'll teach your how to choose fabric, read a pattern and make adjustments based on your specific size and shape. There is a lot to learn and we are here to help teach you. Patterns and fabric are not included in the cost of individual lessons.
You'll love making and wearing the items made in an individual lesson series and best of all, when people ask you where you bought it you can say, "I made it myself!".
Ready to continue your sewing journey? Projects/Lessons are scheduled and paid for as individual lessons. For your best value, we recommend purchasing either a block of five or block of ten one-hour lessons and continue your sewing journey or call us to schedule your date today!
