We are again hosting a "Mom's -- or Dad's -- morning out" where your sewist will join us for a few hours while you have some quiet shopping time -- or maybe just some quiet time! This is an open sewing time with some suggestions of items to make in the time available. Suggested items include making a choice of cute and adorable stuffie(s), holiday pillow, or winter accessory(ies) as time allows. Accessory choices can include a Beanie, Infinity Scarf and/or fingerless gloves or mittens. These can be made as gift for a family member, friend or younger sibling or simply added to their group of favorite friends. The details... Workshop will run from 9:30 a.m. to up to approx. 12:30 on Friday, November 29th, 2024. Suitable for ages 7 and up. October is a bewitching month and it soon will be time for the cutest ghouls and goblins make their appearance at your door. As you prepare for your own enchanting experience, you or your child can make their own cute ghoulish ghost pillow like the one pictured here. Or, if ghosts aren't your thing, you can make one or two of your own fabric pumpkin pillows. Join JMIS on Saturday, October 19th for two to two and a half hours and make one of these accessories. Previous sewing experience is not necessary for this workshop. This will be a fun and enjoyable afternoon -- sewing, sewcializing, and making some adorable and cute Halloween Accessories for your own one-of-a-kind costume! Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" will be brought to life as you make your own Nutcracker or Clara Ballerina in this afternoon, Holiday workshop. Join JMIS on Saturday, December 14th for up to four hours and make one of these accessories. Previous sewing experience is necessary for this workshop. This will be a fun and enjoyable afternoon -- sewing, sewcializing, and making some adorable and fanciful plushies for your own magical experience!

This project is scheduled for Saturday, December 14th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Fabric IS included with the purchase of this workshop. Appropriate for ages 8 and up and those who have sew with us or have some experience using a sewing machine are welcome to join us.

Sometimes an hour just isn't enough time to finish what you are looking to do, but you aren't ready to commit to a larger block of hours. Purchase a two hour lesson for a specific purpose or use it instead of signing up for our Intro to Sewing class when you think you want more one-on-one time. Can be used as a two hour block all at one time, or in two (2) one-hour sessions. This price represents a 10% discount from the cost of 2 one-hour lessons purchased individually!

To accommodate individuals who may not be comfortable with people coming into the store or sharing our studio space with others taking individual lessons at the same time, we are offering a "closed door" lesson time where the shop will not be open for business during our regular business day. Fit for Fashion! is our 2024 summer sewing camp theme. This year we're giving a nod to the 2024 Summer Games and their host city -- Paris, where we will be sewing items that will fit with your (current or planned) sports activities with a little Parisian Flair. The items we envision will be based on some popular styles that combine both form and function. As always, we will have fun taking these ideas and creating unique and amazing fashion projects. By guiding our budding sewists in both design and creation, we will assist them in making items they'll love to use or wear and that are as unique as they are!

As part of this year's "Fit for Fashion!", your young sewist will have fun making new friends, sewing up a storm and being the first to make their own On-Trend fashionable and classic items. YOU, are cordially invited to join Just Make it Sew as we explore sewing and fashion. We end each week of camp with a display of finished projects that -- like previous years -- will be shared on Facebook and Instagram.

Our summer camps are appropriate for aspiring sewista's from ages 8 to 17. We will offer a few advanced projects for our advanced, returning and more experienced sewists. A number of this year's projects will allow each sewista to choose from among various design options that will allow them to express their creativity -- and showcase their own style. Besides having fun, making new or renewing old friendships and learning basic or new sewing skills, we will make up to 3 or 4 items in the time allowed. Those who are more advanced will be given more challenging projects.

Join us for a day of sewing and fun in an all-day PJ and pizza sewing party! on Monday, February 19th from 9:00 am to 3:30 p.m.

The focus of the day will be to have fun sewing and making your own pjs. This workshop is geared for the younger sewista, ages 7 to 15.

Skills learned include cutting and pinning, making a casing for an elastic waist, hemming and more. This workshop will run from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm and will include all supplies and fabric. In person attendance is limited. Call us for more information for this great workshop.

This is a special offer sewing lesson for any two people interested in taking a two hour sewing lesson together. Great taken together as the Introduction to Sewing or for learning a skill together with your child. We are offering this as a 2-hour individual lesson or class where two people together are learning the same skills. Sign up for a two hour lesson for yourself and a friend (or child). Sewing is something that is shared by all peoples throughout the world. Together with your sewist we will weave a thread of fashion and learning together in this Saturday morning sewing social. Students can choose from a list of available projects or bring their own. We'll work with students in this group class as in-person sessions.

These classes are held on Saturday mornings at 9:30 a.m., lasting until approximately 11:00 a.m. And will last for five (5) weeks as an in-person class. This series is appropriate for beginner to advanced beginner students.

Sewcial Society Sessions run five (5) consecutive Saturday mornings on a rolling five (5) week basis as space allows.

Fabric is not included in these sessions and will need to purchased separately. Projects may be chosen from our library of patterns at no charge. Appropriate for ages 8 and up. Please note: Due to the special pricing of these classes, make up sessions are not allowed for these classes unless absences are noted at the time of signup for each session. Like our Sewcial Society class series, this series of classes is designed to provide a "hands-on" opportunity for you to learn and expand your sewing skills. Stay ahead of the curve and showcase your creative skills with your own designer outfit. These 90-minute classes are perfect for the budding sewist who wants "Make it. The Sew-Your-Style Class Series takes place on Tuesday afternoons from 4:30 to 6:00 pm and Friday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:30 on a rolling 5-week basis as space is available. Choose your session on checkout.

Fabric and patterns are not included in these five week group of classes. Appropriate for ages 8 and up. Please Note: Due to the special pricing of these classes, make up sessions are not allowed for these classes unless absences are noted at the time of signup for each session.
